Posting results

The posting results are out! Some of you already sms me to tell me which school you will be going to. Those who havent, can post it here. All the best to you for the new year. You are going to be a secondary school student. The teachers there won't treat you like a primary school kid anymore. So behave like a teenager and think before you act. :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! Take good care.

The Right Use of 999

During the assembly, the police spoke to the school about the right use of 999. In this reflection, I would like you to think about the right use of 999. To guide you in the reflection, I have included some questions:

1. Why do you think school children and members of the public abuse the 999 call?

2. When should you call 999?

3. When should you not call 999?

4. How will the abuse of 999 call affect the police and us?

5. What do you think you should do before calling 999?

6. Do you think the punishment for the abuse of 999 is enough? If yes, why?If not, what would you suggest the police should do ?

Sports Carnival 2008

We had our Sports Carnival on the last day of school last term. The P5 and P6 pupils went to Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex while the P3 and P4 pupils stayed in school.

We waited very long for the bus and we were the second last class to leave the school. The various swimming events started as soon as we reached the pool. We managed to get seats at the back so it was not too hot. We sat down to watch the swimmers compete. Many of the pupils were bored because they were not interested in watching the competition. Then an announcement came. The games for the non-competitors had begun. Many of the pupils were eager to play the games. They quickly changed into their uniforms and went to the pool. I stayed behind with a few of the students who did not want to participate in the games. We took some pictures and ate some snacks together. Finally, the swimming events ended. Topaz was the champion.
When we reached school, the pupils took a walk around the games stalls. The girls paid to have their picture make into a postcard. They invited me to take the picture with them and gave me the postcard after that. It was so nice of them. Caleb also gave me a packets of sweets. That was so sweet of him.
At 12 noon, we collected our ice-cream and went back to class. The ice-cream was very nice. It was so cold. I had trouble scooping because it was very hard. Many of the pupils did not finish their ice-cream because they were too full. After everyone had finished eating, we took some pictures together. It was fun trying to get everyone to pose for the pictures.

I was very tired that day. Too much sound and noise will make Miss Lim tired. Haha. I am glad that everyone had fun that day.

Something about me

Hello... I am Miss Serene Lim, the form teacher of Pri 6.2. These are my students. We took this picture on Teachers' Day last year. They may look cute but they can be a terror at times. They will be taking their PSLE this year. Hope they will do well.

Let me tell you something about me. I have been teaching for about 4 years. I wanted to be a teacher since I was young. It is not easy being a teacher but I still love my job. I do get angry with the children but I still love them very much.

I love dogs. I have a dog named Louie. He will be 3 years old this year. He loves to play and take walks. I met him on Christmas day at a pet farm. He was the only Shih Tzu left in the cage. His big eyes melted my heart. He looked so cute. The sales person wanted me to buy him straight away but I told him that I would go home to think about. I wanted to be sure that I was ready to take care of a dog before getting one. After a night of thinking, I made up my mind. I went back to the farm to get him the next day. He was so happy to go home with me. I am so glad to I have him as my pet dog. He brings a lot of joy to me and my family. Everyone at home loves him.

I like to play games, rollerblade, play with my dog and swim during my free time. I bought a DS-lite recently and have been playing a lot of games. I didnt know that it could be so much fun. I started rollerblading two years ago but I am still not very good at it. I have problems braking. I hope to master the skills soon.
